Two Tabitha communities have again been named among the “Best Nursing Homes in Nebraska” by U.S. News & World Report. Included in the 40 communities ranked for the state’s highest quality, compassionate Elder Care in 2013 were Tabitha of Crete and Tabitha-managed Blue Valley Nursing Home in Hebron.
“This recognition represents the unconditional character, commitment, dedication and love of Elders the teams in these communities put forward each and every day,” said Jeremy Hohlen, Tabitha vice president of operations. “Achieving this level of quality standards is difficult. The work of our care teams is phenomenal.”
Report rankings were established based on data from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Through a series of regular state inspections, CMS ranks each nursing home in the country—more than 200 in Nebraska alone—on a scale of one to five stars. Communities receive an overall score and scores in each underlying category of health inspections, nurse staffing and quality care.
All 40 communities recognized in Nebraska received an overall score of five stars and anywhere from 3-5 stars in the underlying categories.
This is the third consecutive year for the two Tabitha communities to be noted as the best in Nebraska.
According to the publication, one in seven Americans age 65 or better will need care in a nursing home. The report findings help millions of Americans and their families each year to find the best quality of care available in their area.
Tabitha of Crete is a 40-bed community offering skilled nursing and long-term care to Elders in a small-town setting. Tabitha-managed Blue Valley Nursing Home in Hebron is a 64-bed community where care staff sets high standards and aims to provide quality care with a family approach.
